The U.S. Poets in Mexico poetry conference will be held in Oaxaca from October 27-31.
The conference allows U.S. and Mexican poets to meet and discover each other’s writing and explore opportunities for collaboration. There will be conferences, poetry workshops and a number of cultural events. There will also be free poetry readings at Hub Oaxaca and the Instituto de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca (IAGO) which will be open to the public.
The conference will feature a number of Mexican poets including Rocio Gonzalez, Guadalupe Angela, Natalia Toledo, Maria Baranda, Leah Silvieus & Feliciano Sanchez Chan and will explore the poetry of local indigenous peoples.
Participating American poets include Andrei Codrescu, Ron Silliman, Anselm Berrigan, Laure-Anne Bosselaar & Catherine Wagner.
