Want to see some world-class opera right here in Oaxaca?
New York’s Metropolitan Opera will begin their 2016/17 season of live movie-theatre transmissions on Saturday, 8 October at 11am. Featuring ten operas the series will commence with Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and includes classics such as Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, and Verdi’s La Traviata.
Streamed live from New York the performances will be broadcast on to a giant high-definition screen in the historic Teatro Macedonio Alcalá.
Tickets cost $150 / $120 and are available from the theatre box office.
