Mexican writer Antonio Calera-Grobet will visit Oaxaca this Friday, September 30 to present his latest book ‘Sobras Completas’.
The book is a collection of essays about Mexican gastronomy, previously published in the magazines Letras Libres, Gourmet, and Variopinto, as well as in the digital daily Sinembargo, and has been included on journalist Sergio González Rodríguez’s list of the best books published in 2015.
Considered one of the most provocative voices in new Mexican literature Calera-Grobet has published more than a dozen books and is currently a columnist for the magazine ‘Este País’.
The presentation will begin at 7pm at the Biblioteca Pública Central de Oaxaca (BPC) and will be in the form of a performance-degustation in which the author will be cooking live. And don’t arrive late because he’ll be giving away a copy of the book to the first 15 attendees!
The following day, the author will present a poetry reading for the blind, also in the BPC. Contact the library for more details.
