Lila Downs will return to Teatro Macedonio Alcalá on Saturday, May 6 for her annual fundraising concert for the non-profit organisation Fondo Guadalupe Musalem.
Fondo Guadalupe Musalem provides education and social assistance to young indigenous women in the state of Oaxaca. The service provides monthly scholarships as well as training and support in a wide range of subjects including gender equality, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health, community management, photography and video. Tutors, food, accommodation and medical and psychological care are also available.
Tickets cost $1800, $1200, $800, or $500 and can be purchased from the theatre box office.
