Oaxacan singer Lila Downs will return to Teatro Macedonio Alcalá for a special performance on Friday, May 9th.
The concert is a fundraising event for the Fondo Guadalupe Musalem, an organisation that provides education and social assistance to young indigenous women in the state of Oaxaca. The service provides training and support in a wide range of subjects including gender equality, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health, human rights, community management and history. Mentors, community projects, medical and psychological care are also available.
