With six years of experience, local band Juchirap has captured fans in and outside the state of Oaxaca for its peculiar way of making hip-hop. Originally from the Istmo, this group of young people came together with the intention of writing lyrics in Zapotec, and this was the starting point for seeing the group as an opportunity to rescue ethnic languages that little by little have less colloquial use and tend to disappear. .
Today they are the key factor for other young people and groups who are deciding to carry out similar projects with their own languages, evoking an attempt to rescue and value what was once a communication pillar in our pre-Hispanic civilizations.
