Fundación En Vía, a local micro-finance organization, is excited to announce the 2016 Project Tour. En Vía is a Oaxacan non-profit committed to supporting social and community development through the unique combination of microfinance, responsible tourism, and free educational programs.
En Vía offers tours that introduce travelers to the concepts, benefits and challenges involved in microfinance programs for development. These tours give participants the chance to personally meet the women entrepreneurs who are growing their businesses using En Vía’s interest-free microloans.
The Project Tour is En Vía’s most comprehensive tour. It embodies the principles of voluntourism, combining tourists’ leisure time with a way of responsibly giving back to the host communities. Participants will partake in a variety of activities alongside community partners including stove-building, sign-painting, cooking classes, a traditional temazcal healing bath and much more.
On this five day four night tour participants will delve deep into the rich culture, commerce and gastronomy of Oaxaca while contributing to the communities they visit through hands-on development projects.
