Festival: Voices for Justice in Ayotzinapa

0

This Sunday, December 7th, there will be a special event in support of the 43 students who were ‘disappeared’ in Ayotzinapa.  The Festival ‘Voces por la justicia en Ayotzinapa’ has been organised by Espacio Civil de Oaxaca and is “a creative expression of the outrage we feel at the institutionalised violence, impunity, corruption and demagoguery that has been demonstrated by the case of Ayotzinapa”.

The festival is supported by a range of musicians from Oaxaca and Guerrero and will include performances by Byt Band, Tapacamino Colectivo Musiquero, Mare Advertencia Lirika, La China Sonidera, Bajo Mis Manos, Raices, Oaxaca, Martha Toledo, Grupo Ocelotl, Kukulkán Sonido Antisistema and La Mixanteña.

The organisers have asked that no drugs, alcohol, weapons or aerosols be brought to the event.

The festival will be held in the Guelaguetza Auditorium and starts at 4pm.  Entry is free but you’ll need a ticket – you can get one at either La Jicara or Colectivo Tutuma.  Some tickets will also be available at the stadium from 4pm on the day of the event.
