This week the Zocalo will be filled with music and dance as Oaxaca celebrates the 9th National Festival of Danzon.
Starting on Wednesday 25th of June the festival will run for 5 days and feature more than 500 musicians as well as dancers from all over Mexico. There will be public dances, exhibitions, free classes, dance tributes, conferences, and a gala performance featuring special guests Danzonera Oaxaca and Danzonera Dimas.
Most events will be held in the Zocalo, under the Laurel tree, and are free.
