Music, theatre and dance performances; visual arts and literature workshops; conferences and round-table discussions, all this in a week dedicated to creativity and culture as the Festival Cultural Interfaz, el Tiempo y el Espacio returns to Oaxaca from October 5-8.
Throughout the year, Interfaz runs throughout Mexico to contribute to the reflection and development of the arts through a cultural platform that brings together established artists and emerging creators in a variety of disciplines.
Bringing together artists from Oaxaca, Puebla, Chiapas and Veracruz, the festival will open with a performance by the much-loved Pasatono Orquesta at Teatro Macedonio Alcalá on October 5. Other highlights include the theatrical piece ‘Dos personas se tocan brevamente’ (‘two people touch briefly’) from the theatre company TransLímite Alternativa Escénica – a story that touches on Central American migrants who take the train known as ‘La Bestia’ (The Beast); and ‘La Masterpiece’, a contemporary dance performance by choreographer Anabella Pareja Robinson. Children can enjoy Trazom o los juegos de Mozart, a concert and storytelling performance from author and pianist Ana Gerhard.
The festival will also include a series of creative workshops, round-table discussions, conferences and literary presentations. You can see the full program below.
The closing night concert will feature performances by Fieebre! and Sonido Gallo Negro in Jardín Morelos on Saturday, October 8.
Entrance to all events is free.
