The Feria Gráfica Oaxaca returns this month with a two-day exhibition and sale of local art.
Developed as an opportunity for local printmakers to sell and show their work collectively, the feria will feature over 40 artists and include etchings, woodblock prints, lithographs, screenprints and drawings.
This year’s feria will also include printmaking workshops on a non-toxic etching technique called Electrólisis. Electrólisis is an intaglio printmaking method that uses electrical currents with solvents to etch and aquatint metal plates. These two hour workshops will be held on both days and will be run by Enrique Gijón, the printmaking teacher at Bellas Artes. Workshops cost $250 and include a metal plate, paper and other materials. The feria will be open from 11am each day and the opening party will be held on Friday, 19th December from 7pm.
