Artisanal Beer & Gastronomy Festival

0

“Oaxaca is not only about Mezcal”, “Oaxaca stands strong”. These were some of the recurring phrases heard during the  Beer and Gastronomy Forum’s press conference. And all this is true – Oaxaca has almost as many beer options as mezcal and indeed, Oaxaca stands strong. The state is the largest craft beer producer in Southern México with more than 15 nano and micro-breweries.

Held at the gourmet food market La Alhóndiga Reforma this Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of July, the forum’s goal is to promote and foster an artisanal beer drinking culture.

The 16 microbreweries presenting will team up with Alhóndiga’s food stands and will offer special dishes that will both match and enhance the flavors of the food and drinks.  There will also be a series of talks with local brewers.

The event organizers (Alhóndiga Reforma & the Oaxaca Brewers Society) aim to foster economic cooperation and strengthening of local projects. Initiatives like this are great as they invite us to enjoy the heavenly taste of a good beer while we support a growing industry at a very difficult moment for Oaxaca’s economy and society.

Saturday 16th,
11am – 1am
