The Ambulante documentary film festival has arrived in Oaxaca with an exceptional program of over 90 international films.
The festival will open on Thursday, 24th of April at 8pm with a special screening of Jehane Noujaim’s Oscar nominated film ‘The Square’ at Cinepolis Oaxaca. This is a free event but spaces are limited. Tickets are available from the Cinepolis box office from 7pm.
Major venues include Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca, Teatro Juárez, La Jicara, Hub Oaxaca and the Centro Cultural San Pablo, however there are 36 locations in total and films will also be screened in smaller municipalities such as San Pedro Mixtepec, Teotitlán del Valle, Santa María Aztompa and San Andrés Zautla. OaxacaCine will present four films at Teatro Macedonio Alcalá: ‘Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer’, ‘Trances’, ‘Cutie and the Boxer’, and ‘First Cousin Once Removed’. You can watch the trailers below.

All events are free, except for the program in Cinepolis ($35), and Cinebono ($100).
The festival will run until Friday 2nd of May, when it will move to Puerto Escondido and Huatulco.
