‘Agite y Sirva’, or ‘Shake and ‘Serve’, is an international videodance festival. Founded in 2008 the itinerant festival includes screenings, video installations, workshops, live performances, conferences and round-table reflections. In its 6 years, it has travelled to over 4o cities in Mexico, Latin America, North America and Europe and has featured guests such as Javier Contreras, Silvina Szperling, Douglas Rosenbert and Alberto López Cuenca.
This year’s festival will be held at Biblioteca Henestrosa and will open on Thursday, August 20 with Paulina Ruiz Carballido’s ‘Microscope’ – a live performance piece where viewers will be immersed in a hypnotic space that will be transposed into a series of body poems.
The festival will continue until Sunday, August 23 and will include a series of performance videos, documentaries and conferences from more than 20 prominent creators and managers. You can see the full program on their website.
